Since 1972, our agency has professionally served the Greater Saint John area and surrounding communities in creating positive friendships between caring adult mentors and children (ages 6-16) who are at risk emotionally, educationally and socially. Statistics prove that 91 percent of children in our programs feel better about themselves, and that 76 percent achieve better grades in school.

The local branch accomplishes this through promoting an awareness of Canadian Mental Health Association within the greater Saint John area, improving the acceptance and understanding of mental illness, promoting mental wellness within the community and assisting all individuals within our community in developing mental fitness skills. St. John Ambulance volunteers provide first aid service at community events. They also provide first aid and healthcare services at times of disaster and in other emergency situations such as during searches for missing persons.
First aid and CPR training programs are offered by St. John Ambulance and the agency also provides a therapy dog visitation program to residents of long term care facilities and hospitals.
