Funded Programs and Services 
United Way funds a wide range of programs and services for children and youth, individuals and families, persons with disabilities and seniors, families in crisis and youth at risk. These include:
• Hot lunches for school children; • Personal and home care for seniors; • Assistive devices and support for independent living for persons with disabilities; • Camps for children from single parent/low income families; • Mentoring for children; • Child day care; • Adult day care; • Volunteer opportunities; • A community database of local agencies; • Preventative programs for youth at risk; • Homework and after-school programs; • Worker appeal services; • Hot and frozen meals and friendly-visiting services; • Employment and skills training for persons with disabilities; • Literacy skills; • Temporary shelter for women and their children fleeing abuse; • Awareness of the risks of substance abuse; • First aid services and training
